Release Date for Avril & Lil Wayne Collab Pushed Back

The release date for Lil Wayne's new album "Rebirth" which features a collaboration with Avril Lavigne has been pushed back yet again to July 21st. BOOOOOOOO!!! Don't they know how hairy things can get when you deprive an Avril fan of new material for this long?? In case you need a refresher, Lil Wayne is also collaborating with Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Fall Out Boy and Lenny Kravitz for the album which is being billed as "Lil Wayne’s experimental foray into rock music." We never thought we'd say this about a Lil Wayne album... but WE CAN'T WAIT!

Contrary to previous belief, our punk princess, Avril Lavigne, will not be collaborating with rapper Lil' Wayne. Wen 'Rolling Stone' magazine declared that Lavigne made an appearance on Lil' Wayne's upcoming "rock" effort, 'Rebirth'. Avril's reps have now cleared up what seemed to be a different direction to Avril's career, and confirmed that Avril would not be participating in any of Lil' Wayne's new material for 'Rebirth'.

A representative for Lavigne says the 24-year-old Napanee, Ont., native has not collaborated with Lil Wayne, contrary to reports published online.

Lavigne was reportedly going to be featured on Lil Wayne's upcoming rock record, "Rebirth."

The reports seemed to stem from a March story on Rolling Stone's website about a leaked version of the oft-delayed album. The story made a vague reference to a cameo from Lavigne, news that then made the rounds in blogs.

"Avril did not collaborate with Lil Wayne," a representative for Lavigne said Monday through her label.
